Deadly Readers program is run through Education Queensland and the Smith Family. It takes from the "let's Read" program with an Indigenous flavour. This program supports families in reading to their children. This is important to improve children's literacy and the program looks at the ages from babies to school age.

The program also encourages participating families to have their Health Checks done.
